Q: Who are Grow the Look Gardens?
A: We take the stress out of gardening. We help you to create a beautiful garden so that you can sit back and relax in your garden space.
We have created a number of attractive themed planting schemes utilizing plants that we have relied upon over the course of our careers in the Garden Design industry.
Planting
Q: Will I know exactly where to plant everything?
A: Yes! With every planting design, we provide a clear, scaled planting plan showing the exact placement of each plant. Every individual plant is numbered and labelled to match the plan, so you or your gardener can confidently lay out the design with accuracy and ease.
Our schemes have been cleverly worked out by professional designers with over 15 years of industry experience.
As professionals we have greater access to a wider range of cultivars at all times of year, not just the plants that happen to be in bloom at the garden centre. We specifically source the plants that we know to be the most successful.
Q: What do I actually receive?
A: We’ll send you everything you need for the planting scheme you have chosen. This includes a tailored planting plan showing you exactly what goes where, a carefully chosen collection of plants, delivered to your door and clear, beginner-friendly planting instructions.

Q: Do I need to be a skilled gardener?
A: No, we have designed our schemes to be as failsafe as we can, using plants which typically thrive in most gardens. You won't need special planting skills, just follow our planting plans in order to set out your planting.
We also offer planting services to help with the planting side of things if you live within a 15 mile radius of Corsham, Wiltshire.

Q: Why are some of the plants so small?
Some of our plants are grown in 9cm pots to make the most of the space in your garden bed. It's all part of the design - Grow the look is all about creating a full, balanced, and dynamic composition as the plants mature. Though they start small, each plant is chosen for how it will grow to fill it's space beautifully, ensuring your garden develops into a vibrant, cohesive display over time.
Q: I know the look I want for my garden and am looking for something a little more bespoke?
Please get in touch with us via our contact form on the 'Bespoke' page with as much information as you can provide. We will then reply to your email requesting images of the kind of look you have in mind and will be in contact to discuss pricing.
In addition, if you are looking for a more bespoke plan for an unusually shaped flowerbed, we are happy to offer a bespoke service and tailor one of our themes accordingly.
Ordering & Delivery
Q: What do you charge for delivery?
A: So that there are no unexpected costs to you, our customer, there is no extra cost to you.
Q: Where do you deliver?
A: We deliver across the UK. If you live in a remote area or are unsure, just contact us and we'll confirm delivery availability.
Q: How long does delivery take?
A: Between March and October, delivery will take approximately 3 weeks from the point of order. If you place your order over winter months when (when planting would be less optimal due to frosts), we will be in touch to confirm a Spring delivery date.
Q: Can you offer planting too?
A: We are working towards a nationwide service for planting.
In the interim period we offer a planting service within 15 miles of Bath, Somerset. You can select this option at checkout.
Plant Growth & Maintenance
Q: What kind of plants will I receive and how quickly will they grow?
If you choose any of our ‘GROW’ themes you will receive perennial plants in 9cm pots. Perennials mainly die back every Winter, but return back stronger Spring year after year. We have allowed for an average of 11-13 plants per square metre to ensure your scheme will look well established quickly. Please see the 'plant growth' video above regarding growth rates.
If you choose any of our ‘READY’ themes you will receive a mix of perennial plants of varying size from 9cm – 5L pots. We include year round evergreen shrubs and grasses.
Q: When is the best time to plant to ensure healthy growth and establishment?
The best time to plant is typically March-late October/early November. These seasons offer mild temperatures and more consistent rainfall, which help plants establish strong root systems before facing summer heat or winter cold.
While some plants can be planted year-round, we always advise planting during these optimal windows for a higher probability of success. Orders outside of these months will typically be delivered within the recommended planting dates - we will keep you informed.
Q: What maintenance is required?
The core principles are to prepare your soil well by digging it over and remove weeds prior to planting. Include lots of compost (at least one 30L sack per square metre) and water well on planting.
We recommend that you ideally water the plants well every day for at least 2 weeks, particularly when no rain is forecast and during dry periods. Watering is best in the morning or evening to prevent scorching. Ideally carry on watering daily until the plants are well established and growing well.
In terms of ongoing maintenance, we recommend adding a plant feed (seaweed based liquid feeds are excellent) in Spring as the plants re-establish following winter dormancy. It is also good practice to remove dead leaves, stalk and dead material in early Spring to allow for new growth to establish.
