HOW IT WORKS

1. Choosing a Planting Theme

Each planting theme is professionally designed, with plant species that work well together, flower for longer periods and are adaptable to a range of environments.

The imagery we provide gives an impression of the kind of planting within each scheme. The right hand image indicates the selection of likely plants. Please do bear in mind that we sometimes have to provide the nearest possible alternative.

A few of our schemes are more suited to shadier situations, and this is clear within the pant theme name. We would particularly recommend shade orientated themes if you garden is a smaller shadier courtyard space, or is north facing. Other schemes need a generous amount of sunshine each day.

All our schemes are generally as low maintenance as we can make them, but if you need the lowest level of maintenance possible, we would recommend the 'easy' themes.

2. When I order, how do I chose between the options on offer for each theme:

This is a tricky one! Here is a short summary of the pro's and con's of each option:

Pot to plot READY
These are planted in 9cm pots largely, with around 11-13 plants per square metre.

  • Great if you want the most cost-friendly option, with lots of plants and different species
  • closer spacing (around 12 plants per square metre)
  • achieves a full look by the end of the first season, or second season.
  • Can look a little sparse initially - depends how established each plant is within it's pot, and this can vary depending on the time of year
Ready set GROW
These are planted in a mix of plant sizes, but mainly 2/3L pots. Pot sizes vary from 9cm-5L within each scheme.
  • Typically quicker to establish
  • Includes shrubs as well as perennial species, so you are likely to get more height at the back of your border.
  • Due to the size of the plants, they are typically planted less densely (around 8-10 plants per square metre)
  • Designed per 2m length so not available for shorter lengths.
  • Our lower maintenance gardens (the 'easy' themes are only available in this size currently).
3. What happens once I have placed my order?

Thankyou for placing an order and supporting our new business, Grow the look gardens!

We will liaise with the plant nursery who will make headway sourcing all of the plants. We will email you to confirm a delivery date for your plants.

It is important that you plant at a suitable time of year, when plants aren't susceptible to frost (typically March-late October). So, if you place your order outside these dates we will get in touch to arrange delivery within the appropriate planting dates. Do of course place your order in advance, we are happy to take orders at any time of year.

The plant nursery will make contact with you on the day of delivery to let you know when the order will be delivered and can agree a safe place as required if you are not available.

Typical lead times are a minimum of 3 weeks, so we really welcome advance orders.
